Suppose a full time $17.00 per hour caregiver worked 4 hours of "off the Clock" hours per week over a three year period but was not paid for such time at one and-one half times the regular hourly rate of pay. Suppose further a court found willful violations and applied liquidated (double) damages for the wage violations under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Such unpaid wage claim could be calculated as follows:

$17.00 x 4 hours per week x 150 (weeks) x 1.5 (overtime rate) x 2 (liquidated damages) = $ 30,600.00
